Now i want to tell you , How to install AMD ATI Catalyst 12.4 on your BackTrack.
Ready to rock n' roll with your system , #Lolz
AMD Catalyst ™ 12.4 Proprietary Linux x86 display driver has been in rillis. Details about AMD Catlayst 12.4 for Linux is not much i know, but here are some new features and improvements in the latest release.
- Support for Ubuntu 12.4 => No exeption on BackTrack
- Some of the problems have been fixed multi-head
- Several bug fixes
- More powerfull than NVidia driver chipset #lolz
Oke now is time for practice on your BackTrack
#First Step
First uninstall AMD drivers are installed with the command
phiA@3rc0.net:~# sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
phiA@3rc0.net:~#apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev* xorg-driver-fglrx
#Step 2
Now is time to install ATI Catalyst 12.4 with the command
phiA@3rc0.net:~# cd ~/; mkdir catalyst12.4; cd catalyst12.4/ wget -O amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run chmod +x amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run
phiA@3rc0.net:~# sh ./amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run
and then follow the next instruction of instalation.
Run this command to complete the instalation
phiA@3rc0.net:~# aticonfig --initial -f
Final step reboot your system and enjoy the power of AMD ATI Driver Chipset.
